The stadium features 63,400 seats which can be expanded to fit 72,200, and two high-resolution video scoreboards bring every seat close to the action.
The NFL's Arizona Cardinals have enjoyed their home at the University of Phoenix Stadium since its construction in 2006. Founded in 1898, the Cardinals are the oldest continuously running professional football team in the US. Established in Chicago, the Cardinals later moved to St. Louis in 1960, then to Arizona in 1988. They played at the Arizona State University's Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe until their current home completed construction in 2006.
The Cardinals hold one NFL Championship record from 1947 and have since won 4 division titles in 1974, 1975, 2008 and 2009. The Cardinals recently played in Super Bowl XLIII in the 2008-2009 season and won an NFC Championship Game in 2008. With their recent success in making it to Super Bowl XLIII, the University of Phoenix Stadium has become a happening and exciting venue to cheer on the Cardinals!
